Caleva Provides Training for British American Tobacco

New equipment training to assist with formulation scale up

The Caleva team have been out and about recently, providing installation and training services across the UK.

Our team of equipment specialists recently visited British American Tobacco (BAT) based in Southampton to provide installation and training on their new bench-top Variable Density Extruder (VDE) and Multi Bowl Spheronizer (MBS).

Having developed their formulation using the Caleva Multi Lab previously, this new equipment will allow their team of formulation scientists to scale up their formulation production for the next steps in their project. 

Installation and Training

Caleva’s Steve Mate and George Rogers spent a full day with the team at BAT. They covered the following topics during the training:

• Set-up and installation
• Operation and best practice
• Cleaning and maintenance

Steve and George were also able to answer any questions that the BAT team had, and shared tips for optimal extrusion and spheronization.
