The Mini Coater Classic (MCC) is the much-anticipated replacement for the Mini Coater Drier 2 (MCD2). It has been designed and engineered with efficiency and ease-of-use in mind.
*Based on testing with 150 10mm x 4mm tablets, approximately 50 g
The Mini Coater Classic (MCC) allows you to carry out the full coating and drying process, from start to finish, using only small amounts of materials. Coat and dry small batches of tablets, pellets, or capsules in your laboratory with Caleva's new bench-top top-spray coater.
The intuitive digital touchscreen interface gives you full control over all process parameters in one place.
The unique small batch size capability makes it possible to coat a single tablet or capsule, or a few grams of pellets. This makes it ideal for research, formulation development, coating trials, and proof of concept work, especially when the materials being used are scarce or expensive. The small batch size also helps to reduce waste and cut costs during development.
*Suitable for use with gloves
The Mini Coater Classic (MCC) is a user friendly solution for lab-scale tablet and pellet coating trials. It has been engineered with innovative features aimed at helping you achieve the best possible results.
No mechanical agitation – the fluidisation process relies solely on a powerful fan which helps to protect your tablets from mechanical damage, such as chipping, during the coating and drying process. An added benefit to this is that the Mini Coater Classic (MCC) makes very little noise during operation.
Scale up potential – the design of the Mini Coater Classic (MCC) allows for scale up studies based on the fit, form, and function criteria.
Static reduction – the spray chamber unit is made from glass and stainless steel which helps to minimise static. Other benefits of the glass chamber means it easier to observe the coating process, and is comparable to scale up options.
Automatic shut off feature – the new interface allows the user to set a range for the compressed air. If air flow rate falls outside of this range, the machine will automatically shut off. This feature helps to prevent wasted trials due to inadequate flow of compressed air.
Streamlined set up – the prime pump function allows the user to accelerate the coating solution to the spray head, prior to beginning a trial.
Digital touchscreen operation – touchscreen slider operation allows precise control over the process parameters.

While designed and built primarily for use in pharmaceutical research and development facilities, the Mini Coater Classic (MCC) can also be used in other industries, for applications which require a fluid-bed coating process.
The Mini Coater Classic (MCC) is also ideally suited to teaching facilities where the process of tablet coating is taught and would benefit from practical demonstrations. Due to its small batch size capability, fast setup, and rapid coating duration, the whole coating process is easily demonstrated during a single lesson.
