A Round-Up of Our News Highlights From the Last 12 Months
As 2023 draws to a close, join us for a look back over an exciting 12 months at Caleva.
It has been a busy and productive year for the team at Caleva; from launching a brand-new lab machine, to travelling around the world to visit customers and partners, delivering workshops, and attending international exhibitions.
As we near the end of the year and look forward to our plans for 2024, we thought we would take this opportunity to reflect on the events of the last 12 months.
New Product Launch
Arguably Caleva’s biggest news of the year is the launch of a brand-new lab machine. The Multi Lab Scientific (or MLS) is the first brand new machine to join the range in nearly a decade.
Officially released for sale on 5th September, the MLS can now be found in laboratories in Asia, Europe and North America as well as our partners’ demonstration rooms in Germany and New Jersey.
With batch sizes as small as 15-40g, recipe management software and automatic data capture, you can find out how the Multi Lab Scientific can help your formulation development in 2024 with a free, personalised demonstration for you and your team either in person or via video call.
Connecting with Overseas Partners and Customers
As some of the final covid travel restrictions were lifted earlier this year, our equipment experts have been able to make some long overdue visits to catch up with our valued distribution partners, and to install new Caleva equipment at our international customers’ premises.
Between them, Caleva equipment specialists Scott Humphries and Steve Mate have visited over 15 countries, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Türkiye, and Vietnam.
In September we were also delighted to host our Chinese distribution partner, Shen Jiaqiang of Goodwill Technology Ltd. Shen shared many useful insights and worked with us to plan new ways to support the Chinese market into 2024 and beyond. We were also pleased to provide an in-depth training session on the new Multi Lab Scientific, equipping Shen with all the knowledge he needs to introduce our new machine to customers all over China.
To discover the Caleva range wherever you are in the world, please contact us and we would be delighted to introduce you to one of our trusted partners.
Caleva Worldwide
This year Caleva has been represented at exhibitions on three different continents. Not only were our own sales team present at many of these events, but also our partners. Caleva sells and ships products to customers all over the world, so having in-country representation through our skilled and knowledgeable network of partners is essential for supporting our international customers.
During 2023 we attended the following exhibitions:
CPHI – Barcelona, Spain
ETIF – Buenos Aires, Argentina - represented by our partner Cronimo
AAPS – Florida, USA - represented by our partner AC Compacting
Asia Pharma Expo - Dhaka, Bangladesh – represented by our partner Dreks

We look forward to visiting more shows next year and are already making plans for both ACHEMA in June and CPHI in October, as well as collaborating on some exciting events with our partners Medelpharm and Tema.

Workshops
As well as attending exhibitions, Caleva were also delighted to support both the 10th International Granulation Workshop in Sheffield, UK, and the APGI Info Day in Lyon, France.
These events gave attendees the opportunity to get hands on with Caleva equipment, providing valuable insights into the applications and benefits of extrusion and spheronization.
To experience Caleva equipment for yourself, please contact us to find a demonstration room near to you, or discuss our short-term rental* service.
*Our rental service is currently available for select equipment in the UK only.
Work Experience & Enterprise
This year Caleva teamed up with the local high school to provide work experience and enterprise advice to their sixth form students.
Sturminster High School student, Tom Mills joined the Caleva team for a week of immersive work experience within our different departments. This gave Tom valuable insights into many different roles available to him when he leaves school, including engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and accounts.
Two of our Directors also took part in the school’s 2-day Young Enterprise Challenge, supporting students to design, create and sell their own products.
We are delighted to have more work placements already scheduled in for 2024 to help support and educate local young students about the opportunities available in manufacturing and international trade.
Last Working Day of 2023
As you have read, it has been an eventful year at Caleva, leaving the team in need of a well-deserved break! As is customary in the UK, Caleva will be closing for the Christmas period.
The Caleva office will be closed from 5pm (GMT) on Thursday 21st December 2023 until 8am (GMT) on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
